Jed Naisbitt M.D.

Dr. Jed Naisbitt is credentialed as a Registered Phlebotomy Sonographer by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). He is also a member of the Utah Medical Association and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine. He attended medical school at the University of Utah and completed his internship and residency at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has been in practice since 1985, and has re-focused on the specialty of Phlebotomy since 2007.

Dr. Naisbitt is an owner of Mindful Medical and Circle of Life Women’s Center.


Dave Bierer, M.D.

Dr. Bierer is a delegate to the Utah Medical Society, which exists to improve healthcare quality and access for the people of Utah. His interests in medicine include obtaining and utilizing the most modern forms of technology to help improve obstetrical outcomes for mothers and their babies. He is also an owner of both Mindful Medical and Circle of Life Women’s Center.

Dr. Bierer is married and has three children. He enjoys spending time with them, as well as skiing, water sports, classic cars, and rock guitar.


Julia Johansson, M.D.

Dr. Johansson has been been with Circle of Life since 2003. In 2007, she and her partners opened Mindful Medical in hopes of providing patients with more continuity of care when needing outpatient surgeries. This has proven to be a success and has evolved since opening. In addition to general obstetrics and gynecology, she has an active interest in infertility, adolescent gynecology and gynecologic surgery, including minimally invasive techniques.

While performing her residency, Dr. Johansson received a national award in recognition of her skills in laparoscopic surgery. After her residency, she joined Abington OB/GYN and built a successful practice, while at the same time participating in the hospital’s residency education program. In 1998 she was recognized by the OB/GYN department as Teaching Physician of the Year and in 1999 received recognition from the hospital for her special contribution to the OB/GYN residency program in the teaching of operative delivery with forceps.

Dr. Johansson spent most of her life on the east coast before moving to Utah with her husband and two children in 2003.


Robin Houpe, M.D.

After completing her residency in 2007, Dr. Houpe spent 5 years practicing Ob/Gyn on the east coast. In September of 2012, she made the decision to move to Utah and join Mindful Medical and Circle of Life Women’s Center. Dr Houpe prides herself in staying current with the latest evidence based medicine practices and minimally invasive gyn surgery techniques. Her professional interests include low and high-risk obstetrics, infertility, abnormal uterine bleeding, adolescent gynecology, and minimally invasive surgery, including NovaSure endometrial ablation, Myosure, and abdominal and vaginal hysterectomies.

During her free time, she enjoys running, hiking, snow skiing, and traveling with her family. She loves being a part of Mindful Medical and Circle of Life Women’s Center as well as the Ogden community.


Jeffery Brown, M.D.

Dr. Brown has been practicing since 2018. Before he was with Circle of Life Women’s Center, he practiced in Brigham City. When he isn’t helping his patients, he spends his spare time outside, traveling, playing tennis, playing the piano, and scuba diving. He enjoys spending time with his friends and family.


Brett Larson, M.D.

Dr. Brett Larson is thrilled to be joining Circle of Life. He has spent the last six years practicing in Minnesota, and he and his wife are excited to be returning home to Utah with their four children. Dr. Larson earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Utah, and his Doctorate of Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine. He also completed a Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center. Dr. Larson is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG), and a member of the American Medical Association and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.

Most recently, Dr. Larson served as a board member of his hospital’s physician group, head of the Obstetrics/Pediatrics Committee, and in his own practice formed an online support group “Growing Together” to support pregnant women throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. In his spare time, Dr. Larson loves engaging in outdoor activities and traveling with his family.

Shannon Brennan, F.N.P.

Shannon began her nursing career at McKay-Dee Hospital where she worked as an RN with children, teenagers and adults in behavioral health. She is trained in family practice, with a special interest in empowering women of all ages to meet their own healthcare goals. Shannon believes in the importance of treating the entire person, focusing on both the emotional and physical aspects of patients. She develops a collaborative relationship with patients, listening to personal concerns and working as a part of the team to meet individual healthcare needs.

Shannon is available for annual care, anxiety, depression, mood changes, birth control, infertility, abnormal bleeding, perimenopause, and menopause and she has a special interest in working with teenagers, helping them develop positive relationships with health care providers.

“We spend large portions of our life at work. I feel fortunate to be able to do what I love, working with women, meeting new people every day, and being someone that women can trust to come to with their questions and concerns.” When she isn’t working, Shannon enjoys spending time with her two sons, mountain biking, hiking, traveling, and golfing.


Jessica Hess, F.N.P.

Jessica’s training is in family practice and her passion is women’s health. Before becoming a nurse practitioner and joining Circle of Life in 2009 and Mindful Medical in 2017, Jessica spent the first six years of her career working as an RN in psychiatry, long-term care and Labor and Delivery at McKay-Dee Hospital. She received her board certification through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Jessica and her husband live in South Ogden with their son. She enjoys reading, hiking, dancing, jogging, and traveling. She also enjoys serving in the community. She has become involved with disaster planning through Weber County and is currently a member of the Medical Reserve Corps. She further enjoys volunteering on the medical team for triathlons through TriUtah.

Jessica’s mission is to provide an environment where healing and wellness can occur freely. Holistic care is her focus. We are not merely composed of a physical body, but we also have psychological, spiritual, and emotional needs that need to be addressed to achieve complete wellness. Jessica strives to continually further her knowledge of health in order to serve her patients better. It is her hope that her patients will leave her care feeling empowered and better able to meet their own healthcare needs.


Sierra Mayzsak F.N.P.

Sierra started her career in the medical field as a Nurse in the Emergency Department, where she spent 5+ years helping a wide variety of patients from all walks of life. During her time in the ER, she gained a thorough understanding of the importance of prophylactic care and it’s innate ability to help prevent chronic problems. With this understanding, came a strong interest in preventive care and the education of patients on the importance of personal health. Sierra is passionate about her patients’ overall health & will be splitting her time between Circle of Life Women’s Center and Mindful Medical.

“Both Circle of Life and Mindful Medical are great fits for me because I truly believe that by focusing on preventive care, hormone therapy, and weight management, I can give patients a sense of well-being and also increase both their mental and physical health.”

In Sierra’s personal life, she has a love for traveling, outdoor adventures, rock climbing, exercising, and hanging out by the water with her husband, close family, and friends.
